Process
- Once you have agreed to engage our services, we can take care of all logistical and freight considerations.
- We are able to collect parcels, boxes and pallets of items, however large or small, from almost any destination across the world. Our aim is to ensure you have a quick and efficient disposal of waste. We work with large carriers with their own separate commitment to corporate social responsibility.
- We pay all costs of postage and delivery and arrange for each consignment to be insured.
- Once all freight arrives at our warehouse, each package undergoes a rigorous sorting process and assessment.
- The basic categories we sort items into are as follows:
- Those items suitable for the internet market
- Volume stationery for recycling
- Volume clothing and fabric for recycling
- Upcycling (In development)
- Anything inadvertently supplied that may be confidential, which is shredded
- The annual auction market for rock and film memorabilia has grown from about £200,000 in 1982 to £20 million today.
- The market for sporting memorabilia is one of the most diverse areas of the antiques market. This is not just because of the range of sports covered - from boxing to bowls - but is also due to the vast spread of objects, both conventional and unusual, sought after by the typical collector.
- If you are in any doubt as to the demand of these items, then a brief look at sales on our eBay store will no doubt demonstrate that people are already selling a variety of memorabilia relating to events.
We use eBay for a number of reasons:
- Experience
– We have been active on eBay since 2001. We have a long history of helping fellow collectors obtain hard to find items combined with the best possible service.
- eBay facilitates cross-border trading and allows purchasers to view our items from across the EU and beyond, as well as allowing for 24 hour trading, meaning that sales occur in all time zones at all times of the day.
- As eBay is a global market place, fans of a particular sporting team or musical artist are already looking on eBay for your items, but sold by many opportunists, not necessarily committed to our principles.
- eBay Charity
eBay Charity allows us to offer items whilst allocating a percentage of the final selling price to a nominated charity. As we can choose which charity we will support from a list, it is easy enough for us to transfer funds directly to your own cause.
eBay for Charity listings are the same as any other eBay listing, except for the blue and yellow eBay for Charity ribbon in search results, and have the chosen charity's mission statement and logo in the listing.
Gift Aid allows us to make our own donations tax effective. Using Gift Aid means that for every pound we give, your charity will receive an extra 25p from the government.
The Event Surplus “Outlets”
We estimate that 60% of items supplied to us are sold to the memorabilia market. However, when items are not suitable for this market, there are a number of outlets to pursue.
Volume Stationery for Recycling
Companies produce large volumes of pens, pencils, pads, rulers and other stationery products as promotional tools for sporting and entertainment events, exhibitions, brand launches or for general advertising reasons. When an event, exhibition or promotional campaign comes to an end, or a re-brand is ordered, what happens to these surplus materials that are no longer needed? Instead of seeing these items end up in landfill, we aim to forward on such items for the benefit of charities who desperately need such materials.
Volume Clothing for Recycling
We aim to use a number of options to recycle event-specific, unbranded and neutral clothing (i.e. labelled staff or event/exhibition crew). More than 70% of the world’s population wear second hand clothing. We intend to work with members of the Textile Recycling Association who make a donation for every tonne of used clothing and textiles we supply.
Upcycling
Upcycling is defined as the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value. We plan to work with an international upcycling and recycling company that collects difficult-to-recycle packaging and products and repurposes the material into affordable, innovative products.
Confidential Material
Any items which have inadvertently been sent in error or contain the name of an individual are shredded
Where we differ
We aim to give you back some power providing a significant proportion (20-40%) of sale proceeds to your chosen charity.
